In the context of Nepal, the Microfinance sector has been emerging industry for access to finance in the rural areas, where infrastructure, economic activities, social awareness is very poor. Microfinance is playing a vital role to access the financial and non-financial services to poor people and enhancing their socio-economic status as well as the quality of life. Today MFIs function in a complex environment and face significant challenges including increased unhealthy competition, tighter regulations imposed by NRB, increased sophistication of microfinance clients demanding more diversified products and higher customer service with affordable pricing, lack of skilled and professional employees at all levels. Managing these challenges in a way that gains competitive advantage requires strong and innovative leadership, committed and talented management team and staff at all levels of the institution. With the mindset of such challenges, we have been developing an appropriate and well strategy to overcome the challenges and achieving the expected financial and social goal of National Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMBSL).
